Motorists are advised to plan ahead for temporary traffic delays as the City completes road rehabilitation work along the Summit Connector from Monday, August 10, to Friday, August 14, 2026.
The work includes milling, surface preparation, paving, and line painting along the right (slow) lane of Summit Drive from Mission Flats Road to Guerin Creek Way, including the Summit Drive and Guerin Creek Way intersection. A small section of paving will also take place on the downhill hairpin section of Summit Drive.
Work is scheduled as follows, weather permitting:
• August 10–11: Road milling
• August 11–12: Surface preparation
• August 13–14: Paving
• Nightwork following paving: Line painting
Throughout construction, single-lane traffic will be in effect in the work zone. Traffic control personnel and signage will be in place to safely direct motorists through the area.
Drivers should expect delays, reduce their speed, obey all traffic control devices, and allow extra travel time. Motorists are also reminded of work occurring along McGill Road from Dalhousie Drive and University Drive at the same time, as part of the McGill Water Main Upgrades Project.
The City appreciates the public's patience as these improvements are completed. Maintaining road surfaces through preventative rehabilitation helps extend the life of existing infrastructure, improves driving conditions, and reduces the need for more extensive repairs in the future.
