The BC Summer Games Sport Development Grant is available to local coaches, officials, and sport organizations interested in furthering their knowledge in their respective areas.
Examples may include:
- a Level III coach pursuing Level IV certification
- an Umpire taking training to learn to instruct other Umpires
- a sport organization presenting a high-profile "Keynote Speaker" that might be of value to numerous individuals
This fund is a legacy of the 2006 BC Summer Games as a result of a $100,000 budget surplus from staging the games. The interest earned on the balance will provide the annual grant and will grow each subsequent year, "giving back" to the sport leaders in our community for years to come. Reviews are held quarterly.
