Riverside Park Skating Loop

The refrigerated Riverside Park Skating Loop offers a safe, community-focused space for drop-in leisure skating (no hockey permitted). Approved by Council in 2023 and funded through a $7.16M Growing Communities Fund grant, this new amenity builds on recent Riverside Park improvements, including an accessible playground and water park, year-round washroom and change room building, trail upgrades, and added accessibility features, creating an inviting, year-round destination for all to enjoy.

Hours of Operation (weather permitting):

  • Sunday to Thursday | 10:00 am9:00 pm
  • Friday and Saturday | 10:00 am10:00 pm

Skating Information

  • Free public skating—no registration required. 
  • This facility is unsupervised. Skate at your own risk.
  • Helmets are strongly recommended for all skaters.
  • Lighting available during evening hours.
  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Skating aids welcome.
  • Skate in a counter clockwise direction or follow direction of flow.
  • No sticks, pucks, ring or rough play permitted.
  • No pets, bicycles, or strollers allowed on ice surface.
  • Use caution during inclement weather or snowy conditions. Be aware of debris or uneven ice surface.
  • Ice resurfacing occurs regularly.
  • Facility may close temporarily for maintenance or safety reasons.
