In 2023, the City of Kamloops is launching a set of free Pride swim events at Westsyde Pool in October. Special measures will be taken to train staff, adjust changeroom signage, and create safe spaces for individuals to wear the swimwear of their choice and be accepted as they are. The goals are to allow participants to have fun in a space that may not typically feel inviting for those who don’t conform to gender norms and to demonstrate to the community that we are inclusive of all people. There will be an adults-only evening event on October 13 and a family-friendly event in the afternoon on October 15.

While the events are free, registration is required with a maximum of 70 people per event.
