Tournament Capital Centre Implements New Parking System

Kamloops, B.C. - Effective May 1, 2010, a new system for parking at the Tournament Capital Centre will be in place to improve parking availability for patrons.

Parking will remain free of charge at the TCC; however, in order to receive the allotted two hours, vehicles parked in a TCC lot must have the stall number registered. Here’s how to register a stall number:

  1. Park car – remember the parking stall number (the number is written on a blue & white sign)
  2. Proceed to the nearest parking kiosk
  3. Follow kiosk instructions to activate the parking stall
  4. Keep the ticket (Not to be placed on the dash)

If additional time is required, the TCC reception desk staff will be able to add time to the activated stall as long as the parking ticket is provided to them prior to the expiry time.

The benefits of this new parking system are 1) as mentioned previously, it improves the parking availability through enhanced enforcement, ensuring that the TCC parking lots are used by TCC patrons only and 2) it improves customer service by allowing eligible patrons to receive additional free parking time without having to leave the building.

There will be an orientation period beginning today (Wednesday, April 14th) to the end of April, to ensure that patrons have the opportunity to try and get used to the new parking process. Signage is being posted throughout the lots to provide instruction on the new parking system.

Additionally, during this orientation period the TCC is providing one lucky patron a chance to win an amazing TCC gift basket. For full details of this draw, visit the reception desk in the lobby of the TCC.
