Boil Water Advisory for Noble Creek Downgraded to a Water Quality Advisory

Kamloops, B.C. - The City of Kamloops has downgraded the boil water advisory for users of the Noble Creek water system. A water quality advisory is now in place effective immediately at the following addresses:

  • From 4985 Westsyde Road to 7185 Westsyde Road inclusive
  • All addresses on Dairy Road
  • All addresses on Inskip Road
  • All addresses on Riverview Road

What is a Water Quality Advisory?
A water quality advisory is one of three types of public notices commonly used by the Interior Health Authority and is applied in situations in which the public health threat posed by the water supply system is fairly small. Under a water quality advisory, only persons with compromised immune systems should use boiled water (boil for 1 minute) or use bottled water for drinking, food preparation or dental hygiene as a precautionary measure. Young children, pregnant women, elderly persons and persons suffering from serious illness are considered immune compromised.

The water quality advisory will remain in effect until the addresses listed above are connected to the main Kamloops water system which is fed from the Kamloops Centre for Water Quality. The connection of these addresses to the main Kamloops water system is targeted for completion in March 2010.
